Motivation 10.08.2021

Respect yourself enough to walk away from anything that no longer serves you, grows you, or makes you happy.

Unknown

It’s not easy, but I will try, especially in some conversations and relationships. So many times, I find myself regretting being involved in some discussions, especially political ones.

And many times, I have regretted some of the relationships I have started with people who don’t build me.
I sometimes find alone time my best time because I choose the kind and quality of conversations and relationships.
I will walk away and focus on the things that matter the most, and that is myself, my family, and my work. I will serve, grow and make myself, my family, and my work happy.

Change

It is not easy to decide to change. But if it is for the better, just change. I think the fear of losing friends is one of the most significant hindrances. You will not develop if you do not change friends. Forget them, and you will lose your old habits.
Family and friends define us, and if we keep being loyal to them, we will be like them always. But if we do not like our current self and have the desired self, it is within our right and power to become who we wish to be. This will take sacrifice. Audit our circle of family and friends and see who deserves to be close to us. I see no harm in distancing ourselves from certain characters. It is just a matter of facing our fears. It does not matter how close someone is to you. If they cannot make your life better, leave them behind. Who knows, they have been waiting for you to create the path. Then they will be inspired to also change.

Beating The Monday Blues

Monday is a beautiful day and very unique, viewed differently by so many people in the industry. Some say Monday is not a good day to report for work. To some, it is a beautiful day for work. We all look forward to a beautiful day, so it is time to make Monday a beautiful, unique, and productive day for everyone.

Why do we see Monday this way, and how can we change the way we see it? The secret is how you spend your weekend.

So spend your weekend wisely;

  1. Have enough Rest– Weekends are meant for relaxing, take your time to reinvigorate yourself physically, rest enough to recover lost hours during your busy week.

2. Meditate– A weekend should give you time to ponder on your past working week. Looking forward to your coming work week, what was accomplished and what wasn’t, what can be done to make your coming work week better.

3. Family – Very important, spend your weekend energy with family and friends and catch up on everything family-related. It is energy and time well invested because the returns are too great to be wasted.
Quality time is time spent well. That is when spent with people who matter most in your life. Remember, family is the reason you hustle 8hours a day, 5 or 6 days a week, every month all year round.

Thanks for your time, and if you have more exciting ways of beating Monday blues, feel free to recommend in the comments below;

INTEGRITY

The word that I have known to pronounce and claimed to understand almost all my life but did not realize it does not define me.
Integrity is the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles.

I find myself lacking in this area. The quality of being honest is not up to date because I am sometimes dishonest with myself, and when it comes to moral principles, mine are weak.

I wish, and I would like to build my integrity beginning with myself, and I want to do that now. But where do I start from, and how do I start?

And I noted a few lines that appealed to me as below;

A few weeks ago, I came across a book titled: “The Law of Small things” by Stuart H. Brody.

  1. To make integrity count in our lives, we need to count on promises.- This is powerful and can make a difference in my life and the life of people around me.
  2. Discernment is the skill of counting promises.- I should not just count promises, but I should be able to make sound judgments.
  3. Start where you are, use what you have, and do what you can.- I do not have to wait for tomorrow or wait until I have something more than I do now.
  4. Integrity is not a state of moral perfection; it is a commitment to engagement.
  5. Intergrity calls us to a practice and encourages us to make the practice a habit.
  6. When you make a promise that you later want to break, the practice of integrity requires that you ask to be released from it.
  7. The duty to community promotes trust in the common institutions on which we all depend.
  8. Saying that something is too small to matter is the winning argument we have with ourselves to breach the duties of integrity.

Well, I’m still reading the book, but so far, I have felt the impact on my life, and I want to change my life henceforth. If you feel the same way, feel free to comment and share your advice. I will be more than glad to learn from you.

MOTIVATION 12.08.2021

“I’ve come to realize that the only people I need in my life are those ones who need me in theirs even when I have nothing else to offer them but myself.”

Unknown

Yeah! Go out there and give yourself to the ones that need nothing else from you but you. It is not easy to find such people, but if you do, love them and cherish them, and the next time you have something to yield, prioritize them.

And because you cannot please everyone, concentrate only on the ones that matter. That is from my point of view, I do not know about you.

Education and Career Progress

I have encountered people who flaunt their academic qualifications, but is it necessary?

I appreciate the importance of academic qualifications in our career, and I also put into consideration performance. People converge more on their academic qualifications and neglect performance, hoping that academics will guarantee them career progress.

I feel that it is better to prioritize performance than your academics. That is if you are on your career path already. And if you have higher academic qualifications now, focus on performance, and everything else shall fall into place.

I have witnessed poor performers with rich academics. And I have also met brilliant performers who do not have any academics to their names.

This makes me agree with a statement that says “Education is not the name of any degree or certificate that can be shown to others as a proof… But… Education is the name of our attitude, actions, language, behaviour and personality with others in real life…!!

That is how I see it from my point of view, I don’t know about you…
